Breaks Interstate Park in Virginia. Frontiersmen used to call a passage through the mountains a “break.” Such breaks were a rare thing indeed, offering the early settlers an opportunity to take their frontier lives to a new level. This unique 4600-acre park was established in 1954 by an act of Congress initiated by the efforts of the two states it crosses, Virginia and Kentucky, it is now one of only two such interstate parks in the USA.
True Y’dstoti! Rugged, natural trails with interesting rock formations, streams, and waterfalls throughout the Kentucky Pine Mountain State Resort Park. Our room at the Herndon J. Evans Lodge was exceptionally clean & comfortable with a scenic mountain view from the balcony. The Mountain View Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with plenty of seating to enjoy the views. The combination of the natural landscape, stone, and lodge are a refreshing change from the Chain Motels. So join us in Y’dstoti — Un-chain & Lodge it!! You don’t see that on the interstate!
